About JustDefrag

JustDefrag is a free, interactive nostalgia project. Pick Windows 98, Windows XP or MS-DOS, and watch a scattered disk map settle into order.

What is happening?

The program creates an imaginary disk in your browser. It checks the map, reads scattered clusters, writes them into a contiguous sequence, and leaves free space behind. Fixed clusters stay where they are. Pause the session, inspect its legend, or restart with a freshly scrambled disk.

All three interfaces show the same session, so you can switch between them without losing your place. The simulation never accesses your real files or performs disk maintenance.

Made for a moment of nostalgia

This is an independent recreation, not Microsoft software and not affiliated with Microsoft. Windows and MS-DOS names describe the interfaces being recalled.
